Raspberry Run 2009 07/19/2009 Sunday Hopkins, MN [run/walk]
EVENT(s): 5 Mile Run and Walk [11:30 am]
RACE LOCATION: Hopkins Fire Station 1010 1st St S. Hopkins, MN 55343
RACE DESCRIPTION: The Raspberry Run is Minnesota's second oldest running race and is traditionally held on the last day of the famous Hopkins Raspberry Festival.
This year’s new course is a fast and mostly flat course created because of the final stages of construction in and around Shady Oak Lake. The race will start just outside the Fire Station on 17th Ave., and 1st St. S, just west of Central Park. The runners go down 17th and turn east on Excelsior Blvd to 11th Ave. A south turn on 11th Ave. takes runners down to Smetana Blvd where they will run a loop on Smetana Drive before looping back in the opposite direction back to the Fire Station. Runners will then continue past the fire station and take a right turn down a spectator lined Main Street just ahead of the Raspberry Festival Parade in downtown Hopkins.
RACE INFO: Entry Fee: $22 for basic registration if received before July 18, $27 for race-day registration. Participants will have a choice of choosing either no t–shirt, a cotton race t-shirt (additional $6.00 dollars) or a New Balance moisture wicking technical t-shirt option (an additional $11.00).
