RACE LOCATION: Goddard State Park Ives Road Warwick, RI 02818
RACE DESCRIPTION: The 5k certified course is located in Goddard Memorial Park, Ives Road, Warwick. The start and finish line are located at the beach.
PRIZES: Top overall Male & Female - $100 each. First, second and third male & female finishers in all categories will receive an award.
Junior (18 and under; Open (19-29); Sub-masters (30-39), Masters (40-49);
Seniors (50-59); Veterans (60-69); Grand Veteran (70+)
DIRECTIONS: From the North --- Take I-95 South to Rte.4 south. Take first exit #8 to East Greenwich.
Right turn onto Division St (Rte 401). 2 miles to Rte 1. Take right onto Rte 1 south/Main Street.
1 mile to sign "Goddard Memorial Park". Take left at signal. 1 mile to entrance of park.
From the South --- Take I-95 North to exit #8A onto Rte 2 south. At first signal, take left onto Division St. (Rte 401). Follow for 2.25 miles to Rt. 1 (see above)
ADDITIONAL INFO: Education professionals spend their lives with children, stimulating their minds, freeing their spirits, serving their needs – reaching out to children in a million ways, day-to-day, year-by-year. Often these professionals are the first to see special situations, when students may need a hot meal, a winter coat, or funds to participate in a class trip.
The National Education Association Rhode Island Executive Committee established the Children’s Fund in 1985 to answer these needs. Any member of the organization may apply for anonymous financial assistance to help students in those special situations.
Thousands of children are embraced by the fund each year. The Children’s Fund is unique in that 100% of the donations go directly to the children. Not one penny is used for salaries or administrative costs! Thank you for helping with your participation in the Fund Run.
